Have you ever been suddenly found by the people you never knew you needed?
I was in a bit of a writing rut. There was not a muse in sight, and certainly none playing a harp near me. Then, a fellow writer and reader of this blog invited me to a group of other writers. These writers were people whom he had followed online. A hodgepodge of writers with talent, specially curated by him. Who can say no to being hand picked?
For several months, we spent build a small community online. We read each other’s stories, not just from a reader’s point of view, but from a writer’s point of view. We offered criticism and praise. We encouraged each other to keep honing the craft. It has been a fruitful and fun experience. As they say, iron sharpens iron.
If helped me overcome the thing a writer most dreads- the inevitable and heinous writer’s block.
This page is dedicated to the people who were brave enough to let me offer commentary on their writing.
Below you can find all the stories associated with the first “wood-shedding” project of our group, affectionally titled, A Writer’s Shindig. I share these stories here not only because I think they are great stories, but because I think the people who wrote them are talented individuals who have a voice to share with you.
I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I did.
