Jealousy is the unhealed part of you
Wishing someone would turn their eyes
On your loneliness
See the way it cuts you in pieces
And offer to stitch you back together.
Jealousy hurts because it lies to you
Tells you “they don’t love you
Don’t want you, value you, appreciate you, care,”
Exposing your wounds while twisting the truth
Saying the wound isn’t inside of you.
But that’s where it lies.
In that unhealed part of you
That sees someone with something you don’t have
And says, “That should be mine.”
But here’s the thing about jealousy
Even if you had what they had,
The wound would still be there.
To get rid of it
You have to find your own thread
And stitch your own pieces back together.
